LIBRARY
TRUSTEE SEATS:
Two (2) seats (5-year terms) are to be filled on the Perry Public Library Board of
Trustees at an
election to be held at the Library on
Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Noon to 9:00 PM.
Incumbents Angel Lowery and Nancy Meissel have served their maximum
number of terms as library trustees and will be retiring from the
Library Board when their current terms end June 30, 2012.
The new trustee terms begin July 1, 2012. |
The following four candidates
have submitted the required petitions and will be on the ballot for the two trustee
seats at the Tuesday, June 5, 2012, vote
(names drawn randomly for order on ballot):
Raymond L. Kiley 271 votes
Linda Hyland *300
votes (*elected)
David Shearing *353 votes (*elected)
Charles Miller II 235 votes

LIBRARY BUDGET:
A vote
for the annual funding for Perry Public Library will be
held at the same time as the trustee election on
Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Noon to 9:00 PM, at the Library.
The budget was defeated:
Yes 272
No 380
The library will receive the previously approved
amount of $175,000.
Impact of Budget Amount:
The amount to be voted on is $178,500, which is a 2% increase over the previously
approved amount of $175,000. For the taxpayer, this is a 1¢ (one penny) increase per
$1,000 of assessed property value.

*VOTER QUALIFICATIONS:
In order to participate in the voting
process, one must be:
1. A citizen of the United States.
2. At least eighteen (18) years old.
3. A resident of the school district for a period of thirty (30) days
preceding the date of this vote. |
